For three years, MSC Meraviglia gave New Englanders a convenient MSC option from Brooklyn. That ended in April 2026. Here’s what changed and the best ways to sail MSC from the Northeast now.
What happened in New York
MSC Meraviglia began year-round service from the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal in April 2023. Its final New York sailing returned on April 19, 2026, and the ship repositioned to Europe for the summer. MSC canceled a planned 2026–27 New York season in favor of sailings from Miami, and it has not announced another ship for New York. MSC says it will keep assessing the market.
Your best MSC options now
1. Fly to Florida
MSC’s U.S. program is concentrated in Florida, with Miami, Port Canaveral and Fort Lauderdale. Flights from Manchester (MHT), Boston (BOS) and Providence (PVD) to Miami and Orlando are frequent and often cheap. Fly in the day before.
2. Europe from MSC’s home waters
MSC’s biggest program is in the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, often at prices well below U.S.-based lines. Fly-cruise packages can be excellent value.
3. Consider a Northeast alternative
If driving to the port is the priority, Norwegian from Boston and Royal Caribbean and Celebrity from Cape Liberty or Boston are the closest equivalents. See Norwegian from Boston and Royal Caribbean from New England.
Is MSC still worth it from New England?
Often, yes. MSC’s lower fares and kids-sail-free promotions can more than cover the cost of flights to Florida, especially for families. We’ll price both options side by side for you.
