Princess is a favorite for Alaska, for relaxed classic cruising and for travelers who want an easy, well-run ship. Like Celebrity, the key booking decision is the fare package: cruise-only, Princess Plus or Princess Premier. Here is how we decide.

Sailing Princess from the Northeast

New York

Seasonal Canada & New England fall-foliage sailings. A great first cruise for New Hampshire travelers with no flight needed.

Florida

Winter Caribbean from Fort Lauderdale. We price flights from MHT and BOS into your total.

Alaska

Princess’s specialty: Inside Passage and Gulf of Alaska cruises plus land-and-sea cruisetours with Princess lodges.

Cruise-only, Plus or Premier?

  1. Cruise-only works for light drinkers who will not use Wi-Fi much.
  2. Princess Plus bundles drinks, Wi-Fi and gratuities. It pays off for most couples who drink daily.
  3. Princess Premier adds premium drinks, specialty dining, photos and more. Compare it against Plus plus the extras you would actually buy.
  4. Re-check before final payment. Package pricing and promotions change; we request adjustments when the fare rules allow it.

Planning an Alaska cruisetour with Princess

DecisionOur advice
Cruise only or cruisetour? If Denali is on your list, a cruisetour is the easiest way to see it.
Northbound or southbound?Northbound saves the big land days for the end; southbound gets them out of the way. We match it to your energy.
Which month?June–August for warmest weather; May and September for lower fares.
Balcony?Worth it in Alaska more than almost anywhere else.

Common Princess booking mistakes

Mixing packages in one cabin

Package rules often apply to everyone in the stateroom. Plan before you book.

Booking Alaska too late

Cruisetours with lodge stays sell out first, especially summer weeks.

Skipping the Medallion app setup

Completing check-in and app setup early makes embarkation much faster.
